Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about listing on Vera Monet, our curation process, and how we introduce you to couples who value your craft.
01About Vera Monet
What is Vera Monet?
Vera Monet is a curated wedding vendor marketplace serving engaged couples and the professionals who serve them. We connect couples with carefully selected vendors through personalized, human-curated introductions — not algorithmic matching. Our tagline is "Curated, Not Crowded" because we believe quality introductions beat high-volume listings.
How is Vera Monet different from The Knot or Zola?
Most wedding directories are pay-to-play advertising platforms where any vendor can list by paying a subscription fee. Vera Monet is different in three ways: every vendor is reviewed and approved by our team before going live; couples receive a maximum of three vendor introductions per category, not an overwhelming list of results; and vendors pay only when they choose to accept an introduction — no monthly subscription, no commission.
What markets do you operate in?
We currently serve Charleston SC, Savannah GA, Hudson Valley NY, Napa CA, Asheville NC, Charlotte NC, and Palm Beach FL. We're expanding to new markets — if yours isn't listed, apply anyway and we'll reach out when we launch there.
02Getting Listed
How do I apply to be listed on Vera Monet?
Create a vendor account at veramonet.com/vendor/signup, complete your profile, and submit it for review. Our team reviews every application personally. You'll hear back within 1–2 business days.
How long does the review process take?
We review every profile personally, typically within 1–2 business days. If we need additional information or have suggestions for improving your profile, we'll reach out by email.
What makes a strong profile?
The vendors we approve typically have a clear, distinctive portfolio; a compelling bio that communicates their style and approach; complete pricing information; and at least one active social media or website presence. Generic profiles or portfolios that don't clearly represent your current work are less likely to be approved.
Is there a cost to apply?
No. Creating an account and submitting your profile for review is completely free. You only pay when you choose to accept an introduction.

03Introductions
What is an introduction?
An introduction is a curated match between your business and an engaged couple whose vision, budget, and preferences align with your work. When a couple submits a vision request, our team reviews their details and identifies the best-fit vendors. If you're selected, you'll see the introduction in your dashboard. You can review the couple's event details and choose whether to unlock their full contact information.
How are couples matched to vendors?
Matching combines human curation with preference-based scoring. We look at the couple's style preferences, venue type, budget range, guest count, and location — then identify vendors whose portfolio, pricing, and approach are the strongest fit. We limit each couple to a maximum of three vendor introductions per category so each introduction feels meaningful.
How many vendors does a couple get introduced to?
A maximum of three per category. This is intentional — we want each introduction to feel curated and considered, not like a mass email. It also means the couples who reach you are genuinely interested in your work specifically.
Can I pass on an introduction?
Yes. If a couple's event doesn't fit your availability, budget range, or style, you can decline the introduction from your dashboard. Declining does not affect your standing on the platform.
What happens if a couple doesn't respond after I unlock?
Introductions are not guaranteed bookings — they're warm leads. Some couples are still in early stages of planning and may take time to respond. We recommend following up within 48 hours of unlocking. Introduction fees are non-refundable once the contact information has been delivered to you.
04Pricing
How much does it cost to accept an introduction?
Introduction fees vary by category and reflect roughly 1–2% of a typical contract value in that category. Current fees are: Venue $110 · Catering $90 · Planning $90 · Photography $80 · Videography $80 · Florals $60 · Hair & Makeup $25.
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
No. There are no monthly fees, no annual fees, and no setup costs. You pay only when you choose to accept an introduction.
Do you take a commission on contracts I close?
No. Once an introduction is made, what happens between you and the couple is entirely your own. We have no visibility into whether you close the contract, what you charge, or how the event goes.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your card is saved securely when you unlock your first introduction — you won't need to re-enter it for future unlocks.
Do I get a free introduction?
Yes. Every new vendor receives their first introduction at no charge. This gives you a chance to experience the platform before committing to a paid introduction.
05Profile & SEO
How do I make my profile stand out to couples?
Your profile is your first impression. A few things that matter most: use high-quality images that genuinely represent your current work; write a bio in your own voice — couples can tell when it's authentic; be specific about your style and approach rather than listing generic qualities; and complete every section of your profile, including pricing and FAQs. Profiles with more complete information receive better placement in search results.
Can you give tips on writing a strong bio?
Write as if you're speaking directly to a couple on their first consultation call. Describe your style, your approach, and what makes working with you different. Be specific — "I shoot with natural light and a documentary approach, capturing the moments between the moments" says more than "I'm passionate about telling your story." Aim for 2–3 sentences for the short bio and 3–5 paragraphs for the full description. Read it aloud — if it sounds like a brochure, rewrite it.
Should I use AI to write my profile?
We strongly discourage copying AI-generated content directly into your profile. Couples and search engines can both detect generic AI writing, and it rarely reflects your actual voice or style. If you use AI as a starting point, rewrite it thoroughly in your own words before publishing. Your profile should sound like you — not like a template.
Can I use the same bio on Vera Monet that I use on The Knot or my website?
We recommend writing original content for your Vera Monet profile. Using identical copy across multiple platforms can hurt your search engine rankings — search engines flag duplicate content and may rank all versions lower as a result. Even a meaningfully rewritten version of your existing bio will perform better than a direct copy-paste.
What image quality does Vera Monet recommend?
Your hero image should be at least 1800 × 900px (ideal: 2400 × 1200px) with a 2:1 aspect ratio. Portfolio images should be at least 1200px on the longest side. Use JPG or WebP format. Avoid watermarks, overlays, or heavy filters — couples want to see your work as it actually looks.
Does my Vera Monet profile help with SEO?
Yes. Your Vera Monet profile is a publicly indexed page at veramonet.com/vendors/your-slug. Inbound links from established domains like ours can support your overall search presence. To get the most SEO value: write original descriptions (not copied from your website), include location and style keywords naturally in your bio, complete your FAQ section, and keep your profile updated.
06Better Matches
How do I get better matches on Vera Monet?
The quality of your matches depends largely on how accurately your profile reflects your work and ideal client. A few things that make a meaningful difference: use style tags that genuinely describe your aesthetic rather than selecting all of them; set accurate pricing — couples whose budget aligns with your range make far better leads than those who can't afford you; write clearly about the types of events and venues you work best at; and keep your portfolio current. Outdated or inconsistent imagery leads to mismatched expectations on both sides.
How does the matching algorithm work?
Matching combines several signals: your style tags and how they align with a couple's aesthetic preferences; your location and service radius relative to their venue; your pricing relative to their budget; your experience level and reviews; and the completeness and quality of your profile. Vendors with complete, specific profiles consistently receive better-matched introductions than those with sparse or generic ones.
Do my response habits affect my placement?
Yes. Vendors who consistently respond to introductions promptly and professionally are treated as higher-quality matches in our curation process. Repeatedly declining introductions or leaving them unaddressed can result in receiving fewer introductions over time.
What style tags should I select?
Only select the tags that genuinely describe your portfolio. Selecting every tag to appear in more searches actually reduces match quality — couples with specific aesthetic preferences will be less likely to find you a good fit if your tags don't reflect your real style. Choose 3–5 tags that a couple would use to describe your work after looking at your portfolio, not the tags you aspire to.
07Your Account
Can I update my profile after it's approved?
Yes. You can update your profile at any time from your vendor dashboard. Changes to your bio, images, pricing, and FAQ take effect immediately. We may periodically re-review profiles to ensure they continue to meet our standards.
Can I be listed on other platforms at the same time?
Yes. Vera Monet does not require exclusivity. You're free to maintain listings on The Knot, Zola, Instagram, your own website, or any other platform simultaneously.
How do I close my account?
You can close your account by contacting us at hello@veramonet.com. Any outstanding Introduction Fees remain due. Closing your account removes your profile from the platform immediately and you will no longer receive introductions.
What happens to my account if I don't respond to introductions?
We may suspend or remove accounts that consistently ignore introductions or fail to maintain professional conduct. If you're temporarily unavailable, we recommend updating your profile to reflect your current availability rather than leaving introductions unattended.
