Peony Design Studio is a boutique floral and event design studio rooted in Pleasant Valley, New York, with more than two decades of experience serving the Hudson Valley. Founded by Christine Fontana, a horticulture-certified designer whose path wound from early work in a floral shop through an accounting and finance degree before circling back to what she loved most, the studio is built on the belief that flowers are not decoration but communication. Color, texture, and placement each carry a message, and Christine's process is organized around translating a couple's vision into an environment that guests feel as much as see.

The studio's approach to wedding florals is collaborative from the start. Mood boards anchor the early conversations, giving couples a visual anchor for what all the planning will eventually produce. From there, Christine designs cohesively across every element: bouquets and personal flowers, ceremony installations, tablescapes, and full event styling, always with the venue, the season, and the couple's specific color story in mind. She brings rental vessels and décor into the process as needed, sourcing locally when possible through her network of Hudson Valley flower farmers and growers.

Travel Coverage Peony Design Studio provides on‑site wedding floral services throughout the Hudson Valley and the greater tri‑state region. Our standard travel radius includes: New York: Hudson Valley, Catskills, Capital Region, Westchester, NYC Connecticut: Western CT and shoreline venues New Jersey: Northern and Central NJ Pennsylvania: Eastern PA, including the Poconos and Lehigh Valley We regularly travel for weddings across these areas and are fully equipped for early load‑ins, complex installations, and venue‑specific logistics. Travel Fees Travel fees are calculated based on distance, time, and the size of the installation team required for your event. Typical considerations include: Mileage or regional flat rate for venues within NY, CT, NJ, and eastern PA Additional staffing fees when extra designers or assistants are required for setup or strike Early‑morning or late‑night return fees when venue timing requires extended hours Tolls and parking, when applicable Most weddings within the Hudson Valley fall under a standard travel fee, while farther locations in CT, NJ, and PA may include a modest extended‑travel charge.

What’s Included

Personal Florals
Bouquets or personal arrangements for partners, attendants, and family members; boutonnieres or wearable florals; and optional floral accents such as hair flowers or pocket pieces.
Ceremony Florals
Designs for arches, chuppahs, pergolas, or other structures; aisle arrangements; entrance pieces; and any focal installations that frame the ceremony space.
Cocktail Hour Florals

Reception Florals
