Laura and Rachel Photography is a mother-daughter team with more than fifteen years of combined experience, now based in Charleston and available for weddings wherever the celebration takes them. Both photographers are present at every wedding, working in tandem across film and digital formats to produce a body of work that is editorial in sensibility and enduring in quality.
The two bring genuinely complementary perspectives to the work. Laura came to photography in her thirties, discovering an immediate and natural gift for seeing people at their truest. Raised along the California central coast and now rooted in Charleston, she is the team's digital specialist and its quiet anchor on the wedding day. Her ability to put people at ease in front of a lens is the kind that cannot be taught. Couples leave her direction looking uncontrived because they were.
Rachel is the studio's founder and its editorial eye. She began photographing celebrations as a teenager and has spent her career developing a fashion-forward approach that prizes composition, light, and the kind of image that rewards a second look. A devoted film photographer, she believes analog captures a quality that digital alone cannot replicate: warmth, grain, and a timelessness that makes a photograph feel as though it was always meant to hang on a wall.
