Leigh Hayward Photography is a Charleston-based wedding, elopement, and portrait studio with nearly two decades of experience and a visual sensibility shaped by an unusually wide lens. Leigh studied fine art and visual communication in London, where her grandfather handed her a vintage film camera and changed the direction of her life. What followed was more than a decade abroad, working in fashion photography in the UK and traveling through Europe, Asia, Thailand, India, and South Africa, absorbing ways of seeing that still inform how she moves through a wedding day.

She launched Leigh Hayward Photography in 2006 and has built a practice around a specific kind of couple: one that values presence over performance, connection over choreography, and images that hold up not just as documents but as heirlooms. Her fine art background gives her work a compositional elegance that reads as timeless rather than trend-driven. Her years of working with people in high-pressure, image-conscious environments gave her something rarer: the ability to make a subject feel genuinely at ease rather than simply telling them to relax.
